Big Dance is the UK’s biggest ever celebration of dance. Taking place across the country as part of the London 2012 Festival, Big Dance features thousands of events inspired by dance. They have been taking place in all sorts of locations and in all dance styles and have included classes, workshops, flashmobs, film screenings, world record attempts and dancing in unusual spaces.
Manchester Jazz Festival 2012 launches
Celebrating its 17th year, it is unlike any other event on the jazz festival circuit. Seventy events, more than half of them free, will take place across six central Manchester music venues, offering a fascinating journey of discovery through the world of jazz today. This year’s event features nine days of contemporary jazz from the North West, the UK and abroad with national premieres of original work and international debuts.

Huntington Heritage Park Sculpture Trail at Bold Venture Park, Darwen
You are invited to the launch on Saturday July 7th 2012, from 2.30 – 4.30 pm, at the war memorial. A small exhibition of ideas, maquettes, drawings, sketchbooks and background stories will be held in the entrance hall of Darwen Library untill August 3rd. (Library opens on Saturday from 10.00 – 4.00)
