Culture Warrington in partnership with Gallery At Bank Quay House are looking for gifted artists from the North West to have their work showcased alongside national and international talent at the Open exhibition as part of Warrington Contemporary Arts Festival 2013.Launching on Friday 18 October, the regions only contemporary arts festival is back for its third year and it’s shaping up to be our best yet! Packed with performances, exhibitions, events, talks and tours, one of the main strands of the festival is the Contemporary Open exhibition held across Pyramid, Warrington Museum & Art Gallery and Gallery At Bank Quay House. Budding artists could have their work exhibited for the duration of the festival at one of these venues.
The exhibition will open alongside artwork and interventions from critically acclaimed artists including Polly Morgan, Jeremy Bailey, FACT Liverpool, Claire Weetman, David Ogle, Tracy Hill and Wild Writers.
The festival includes visual arts and photography open exhibitions with prizes for first, second and people’s choice. We’re very excited to announce that the guest judge for visual arts will be Sara Jayne Parsons, the Exhibitions Curator at The Bluecoat in Liverpool and Terry Johnson, Winner of the 2012 photography Open will judge the photographic entries.
We’re inviting artists, living or working in a 35-mile radius, to submit up to two works completed within the last three years. We will accept painting, sculpture, drawing, prints, mixed media and textile work.
