Crafting History: Lead Artist Opportunity, Manchester Craft & Design Centre

The Crafting History exhibition will showcase creative responses to the history of Manchester Craft and Design Centre (MCDC). Work will be produced by a commissioned contemporary lead artist/maker, and donated by resident makers from the Centre.

The exhibition will form a key part of the Centres 30th Anniversary celebrations and is part of a programme of events focused on collecting and sharing MCDCs story to date.

We are currently looking to commission an artist to complete a piece of work that innovatively responds to Manchester Craft and Design Centre’s history. This work will form the main part of theCrafting Historyexhibition, which will launch on the 14th of July 2012.

The artwork must draw inspiration from either a specific story or memory, or the entire MCDC history gathered during our current Collecting History project.

Please visit the News section of our website for full information and to download our artist brief.

Deadline: Please apply via email by 10 am on Tuesday 29th of May 2012: exhibitions@craftanddesign.com
