LAN Open exhibition 2013 – call for submissions

After the success of last years’ Open exhibition, we were keen to hold another. Oxheys Mill Studios have kindly agreed to host in their fabulous Project Space again but we have also arranged with the new Korova Arts Cafe in Preston for some additional exhibition space. This will increase exposure and provide more opportunities for sales. The Private View event will be held at Oxheys on 22nd August, with another event held at Korova on Saturday 24th August. LAN Flyer

The LAN 2013 Open exhibition at Oxheys will run from 23rd August to 21st September, open Fridays and Saturdays, 11am-4pm and during other events. Other days and times by appointment.

Submissions are invited from all 2D or 3D artists working in any media, including drawings, paintings, prints, textiles, mixed media, ceramics, pottery, sculpture, jewellery, digital art, video, film and photography. Additionally, submissions including music, performance, poetry, written works and artists books are also welcome. Proposals for workshops or artists talks during the run of the exhibition are also being encouraged.

There is an optional theme of ‘protest’ for this years event, which can be interpreted quite widely, giving lots of scope for imaginative works. All works submitted on this theme will be exhibited collectively for a cohesive display but as it is optional, all submissions will be considered regardless.

Submissions of up to 5 pieces of visual art or written work, with the first piece free for LAN members, are invited. All work to be delivered to Oxheys Mill Studios in Preston on Friday 16th, Saturday 17th or Sunday 18th August between 11am-4pm. For full details and an Entry Form download LAN Exhibition-T&Cs 2013. Performance and music artists email a proposal to Korova by 4pm on Sunday 18th August, details and entry form download LAN Exhibition-Performers T&Cs 2013.

Last year’s Open exhibition was a big success with visual artists from all across the North West submitting work, from Chester up to the Scottish borders and from the Lakes to the other side of the Pennines. The Private View was the busiest Oxheys had seen and sales on the opening night exceeded everyone’s expectations.

Don’t miss this opportunity to take part in the 2013 event and help make it bigger and better than last year.

If you are not yet a LAN member – join now! Please share with other artists who may be interested.

Thank you for your support.
