Do you work with young people?  Support their creative development with Arts Award.  Train as an Arts Award adviser and learn everything you need to deliver these unique qualifications, enabling you to support children and young people aged up to 25.  Arts Award is open to young people of all interests and backgrounds, and can be delivered within a variety of settings and timescales through any arts, cultural or media activity.

Bursary programme supports eight organisations in the North : Creative Case for Diversity

Eight organisations in the North have been awarded Creative Case NORTH bursaries to support them in exploring how they contribute to the Creative Case for Diversity. The Creative Case for Diversity is the Arts Council’s approach to diversity and equality, setting out how both can enrich the arts for artists, audiences and our wider society.  Creative Case NORTH is a sector-led programme of activity exploring the Creative Case, developed by a consortium of arts and cultural organisations and artists in the North, supported by the Arts Council.

The bursaries are providing six of our National portfolio organisations and two of our Major partner museums with the time, space and resources to develop their contribution to the Creative Case within their programming, collections or curatorial practice.

More people in the North to experience celebrated British art works

Walker Art Gallery, National Museums Liverpool will join Yorkshire Sculpture Park as a recipient of the Arts Council’s National Partners Fund to host and curate work from the Arts Council Collection. The £1.8 million programme marks the 70th anniversary of the Arts Council Collection.

Since being founded in 1946, the Arts Council Collection has grown to become one of the greatest collections of British art in the world and can be seen in galleries up and down the country, as well as in schools, hospitals and other public buildings.

Resilient museums: Panel discussion & workshops

Over the next three years, the Arts Council’s focus will be on supporting museums to become more sustainable and resilient businesses and to maximise the benefits they have in their communities.

With challenging times ahead, Arts Council England’s Director of Museums, John Orna-Ornstein, will be hosting a series of panel discussions and workshops about building a resilient museum sector for the future.

The North receives over £2 million in Museum development funds

Nine museum development providers across the country will receive around £3 million a year through Museum development fund. The fund aims to provide a national network of professional advice to all museums, particularly smaller museums. The recipients’ priority will be to improve the sustainability and resilience of the museums sector thereby helping to maximise benefits to audiences and communities.
