Lisa Le Feuvre: Nauman and Failure

Lisa Le Feuvre, Head of Sculpture Studies at the Henry Moore Institute, Leeds will consider Bruce Nauman’s work through the idea of failure, thinking through how his productive use of repetition and error test the boundaries of sculpture.

Using frustrated communication, slips in language and processes of labour, Nauman consistently unpacks assumptions we use to find our place in the world. Taking the exhibition  as a starting point, this talk proposes failure as a means to
understand perception.

Call for visual artists – kinetic sculptural artwork

As part of the major development of a new 3 storey building at The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust, Lime the arts in healthcare organisation, wish to commission an artist to create a feature kinetic sculptural artwork to be positioned within the atrium space of the new building.

LAN Open exhibition 2013 – call for submissions

After the success of last years’ Open exhibition, we were keen to hold another. Oxheys Mill Studios have kindly agreed to host in their fabulous Project Space again but we have also arranged with the new Korova Arts Cafe in Preston for some additional exhibition space. This will increase exposure and provide more opportunities for sales. The Private View event will be held at Oxheys on 22nd August, with another event held at Korova on Saturday 24th August. LAN Flyer

Yorkshire aims to become sculpture capital of Europe

A major new project headed by the Henry Moore Institute, The Hepworth Wakefield, Leeds Art Gallery and Yorkshire Sculpture Park and supported by Arts Council England and Welcome to Yorkshire is aiming to make Yorkshire the sculpture capital of Europe.
