Celebrating 3 years since moving in to the former ARM factory on Stanhope Street, artist-run Oxheys Mill Studios was started by three local artists as a collective, with the belief that empty industrial spaces could be made accessible for art and the aim of providing a space in Preston where local artists could experiment and exhibit work alongside the studios. To date 25 very different exhibitions have been organised and hosted along with other events and activities including music, live theatre, performance and poetry readings, creative writing, life drawing and photography workshops.
Oxheys Mill Studios is delighted and proud to offer a rare opportunity to catch a display of the winning images from the National Photography Awards from the British Institute of Professional Photography. This exhibition will show some of the best photographic images from a number of genres, which won awards at the 2012 National Photography Awards event held at the British Film Institute in London earlier this year.
Ribble Valley Art Studios are now taking applications from artists for this amazing opportunity to rent studio space in the centre of Clitheroe. Be in at the beginning of an exciting venture to form a small, yet enthusiastic, energetic and committed group of artists working in Clitheroe town centre.
Join us on International Women’s Day as we take part in a series of events being held throughout Preston, organised and curated by UCLAN’s Professor of Contemporary Art, Lubaina Himid MBE.
The day will consist of an Arts Trail which will start at the University of Central Lancashire:
