Last year saw Artlab contemporary print studios join the 20:20 project for the first time. 20:20 Print Exchange started in 2009 as a project between Hot Bed Press in Salford and Red Hot Press in Southampton. The format was so successful that it was decided to roll this out to more print workshops. In 2010 there were 120 artists from 10 print workshops involved, in 2011 there were 257 artists from 19 print studios and in 2012 there were 392 artists from 31 workshops producing 9,800 prints! University of Chester Degree show 2013
The 2013 University of Chester Fine Art degree show will be at the Kingsway campus from the 20th June. Come and see the varied works of this years fine art graduates. Opening night on the 20th from 6-8pm with works able to view up until the 26th June.

‘Conversations’ at Oxheys
Conversations is a working residency by emerging artists Jane Bennett, Steph Fletcher, Rob Smith, Nuala Riding, Natalie Morgan and Evelyn Rose, who are in the completion stage of their Fine Art: Site and Archive MA at the University of Central Lancashire in Preston. The North West has a growing reputation as a cultural tourism destination
Last year’s Cultural Olympiad events and activities across the region acted as a catalyst for cultural tourism. Events like The Moment When in Cheshire, Lakes Alive in Cumbria, Blaze and Preston Guild with WE PLAY Expo in Lancashire, and Sacrilege – Jeremy Deller’s inflatable Stonehenge – appearing in both Preston and Oldham raised the profile of the places where they were happening and brought them national and international attention. Oxheys Mill Studios have issued a call for submissions for their 2012 ‘Winter‘ exhibition, asking artists to submit work that respond to the theme of ‘winter’, which is open to wide interpretation. It is hoped this will build on the success of last years’ Winter exhibition, which received an impressive response from artists in all media, making an interesting and imaginative show from which several works sold during the Private View! Homotopia 2012 opens across Liverpool
Homotopia 2012, the international festival of queer arts and culture, opens on 30 October and runs until 30 November in venues across Liverpool with the theme of ‘Traditional Family Values’ celebrating and exploring ‘the family’ in all its queer diversity.
